CALL COLLECTOR

CALL COLLECTOR TERMINATES CALL

WHEN PREPAID LIMIT IS REACHED

The CALL COLLECTOR provides a property with the ability to eliminate it's telephone overcharge skips. If the property is collecting in advance for telephone usage the guest has the ability to run up large bills in excess of the amount collected during the evening hours and then not show up to pay them in the morning. The CALL COLLECTOR eliminates this problem by calculating the cost of the calls while they are being made and when the deposit is exceeded the call in process is disconnected and any additional calls are not permitted until a deposit has been made to bring the account positive.

DEPOSIT MODE

At check-in a deposit is collected from the guest to cover any telephone calls that are anticipated to be made. The desk clerk then enters the deposit amount and the room number into the CALL COLLECTOR.

DEBIT CARD MODE

At check-in a debit card is sold to the guest in the denomination desired. The desk clerk then enters the debit card account number and amount into the CALL COLLECTOR.  The debit cards  can be preloaded to simplify operation.

If there is a positive balance while the account number is entered by the guest a call is allowed to be connected. If at any time during the call the balance in the account goes negative the call is disconnected. An optional voice prompt can be provided when the balance will allow no more than one more minute of talk.

HOW IT CONNECTS

The CALL COLLECTOR  is connected to the trunks being used for guest calls using a serial connection (RJ-71 or equivalent). Only those trunks on which guests can make calls that they are to be billed for need to be connected. In the deposit mode it is also connected to all the guest room extensions using an RJ-21 USOC connection.
